OnePlus Nord 2 is on the way and gets MediaTek processor
There is news about a new smartphone from the manufacturer OnePlus. This time it is not about the OnePlus 9 series, but about the OnePlus Nord 2. There is now some information about the new device, including the news about when we can expect it.
OnePlus Nord 2 is coming
New information shows that OnePlus is working on the new OnePlus Nord 2. The smartphone, which can follow the current OnePlus Nord. The device will be released in the second quarter of 2021 and will be equipped with the Dimensity 1200 chipset from MediaTek.
According to the company behind the chipset, this SoC can compete with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, the company’s high-end processor. Nevertheless, OnePlus will once again release the Nord in the mid-market segment. The current Nord is equipped with a Snapdragon 765G chipset. This means that it is a significant step up, although it is unknown what the step with this processor will do with the price of the smartphone.

Never before has OnePlus placed a MediaTek chipset in a device. The processor manufacturer has made quite some progress in recent years. More and more manufacturers are now opting for a MediaTek chipset; for example, we already saw them at Xiaomi and Oppo. It is not entirely known when the device will be announced exactly. First, the focus will be on the OnePlus 9 series.
