Apple updates Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Motion, and Compressor

Apple is now offering several updates for several of its applications. This applies to Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Motion, and Compressor. These are not major updates.

Updates to Apple Video Apps on Mac

iMovie upgraded to version 10.2.3. Here are the changes according to Apple:

  • Fixes the following possible issues with importing from iMovie for iOS:
  • Fonts are subject to change when using the Drag and Chromatic heading styles
  • Longer titles can be rearranged on two lines instead of one
  • Filters may be removed from plans
  • Some projects may not import
  • Corrects the display of event name change in All Events view, where the display of the same name may be incorrect for another event
  • Contains stability and reliability improvements

As for Final Cut Pro, this is version 10.5.2. So far, this version only includes stability and reliability improvements.

Motion is another application updated to version 5.5.1. Here are the changes:

  • Adds a new Auto-Collapse option to the Text Layout tab in the Inspector, to automatically collapse text to fit in a paragraph layout, vertical scrolling, or horizontal scrolling.
  • Includes interface refinements in macOS Big Sur.
  • Contains stability and reliability improvements.

Finally, Apple offers version 4.5.2 of Compressor. The changes are as follows:

  • Contains HEVC proxy settings optimized for Final Cut Pro.
  • Includes interface refinements in macOS Big Sur.
  • Contains stability and reliability improvements.
