One UI Watch officially: New interface from Samsung based on Wear OS
Google last month unveiled a new improved version of the Wear OS operating system, on which it worked with the South Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung. Samsung has now also revealed more details and officially introduced a new interface for its smart watch – One UI Watch.
One UI Watch will bring better cooperation between the watch and the smartphone
In addition to improved performance and better battery life, the new interface will also make the watch easier to work with Android smartphones. First of all, Samsung has unified the design of the watch’s user interface and it will be more similar to the one on a smartphone. It also unified the cooperation of some basic applications such as Clock or Phone. In practice, this means that, for example, if you block a phone number via the watch, it will also be blocked automatically on the smartphone.
Installing third-party applications will be easier than ever
It will also be easier to install third-party applications from the Google Play store, and when you install the application on your smartphone, it will automatically install itself on your watch. Android application developers will also have access to resources that allow them to customize their applications for watches as well. In addition, Samsung will make available an improved tool for creating dials.
Samsung has not released more details yet, but will probably do so when introducing the first watches with the One UI Watch system. This will happen already this summer at the Unpacked event and it will be a watch from the Galaxy Watch series, ie the expected Galaxy Watch4.
