One of the most popular Huawei phones ends with security updates
Although the length of official support has recently been sympathetically stretching, sooner or later all smartphones will reach a point where the manufacturer has no further official updates for them. And it can easily be the most popular device of the brand. The pace is relentless and older pieces have to give way to new features in terms of developer attention. This applies to both general system updates and patches carrying security patches. The owners of one of historically most popular Huawei phones must now say goodbye to the latter. Security updates have ended for most models from the Huawei Mate 20 phone line.
The Chinese company has removed models from the list for supplying security packages Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro a Mate 20 X. The 2018 series has thus mostly reached a point where even quarterly updates no longer apply to it. The only two exceptions that remain on the list are the newer Mate 20 X 5G and Mate 20 Lite phones. Monthly care still applies to the former, quarterly care to the second. The popular line came two and a half years ago with a Kirin 980 processor, 40W charging, a 40 megapixel main camera and carefree still with Android with Google apps and services. Now for Huawei Mate 20 phones, security updates have officially come to an end.
