Not only the price is embarrassing

Steam puts very few obstacles in the way of hobbyists when it comes to publishing their own game on the platform. That’s why there’s a lot of trash there. A 2,000 euro expensive work of art stands out in particular.

Steam game for 2,000 euros is just rubbish

There are many expensive games on Steam. However, there is currently a new leader. The Hidden and Unknown was only released on January 23, 2023 and demands proud 1,949.09 euros of you. Even those games that have been supplied with DLCs for years do not reach such a price.

And what do you get for your money? A visual novel that practically completely dispenses with graphics and gameplay. Even the thumbnails on Steam show it dreary backgrounds, which look like they were drawn by an AI. People are never seen either. All conversations take place exclusively in text boxes.

The strengths of the genre, however, usually also lie in the plot. This is where The Hidden and Unknown wants your understanding of psychology and philosophy expand. The intro, reminiscent of Star Wars, takes you straight into a world where men are too weak and women are too strong. Therefore, of course, the end of humanity is now threatening. There, a young man named Brian receives an unexpected visitor.

Surprisingly, however, it is not Andrew Tate who wants to talk to him about alpha animals. Instead, he meets an artificial intelligence from the future that he is supposed to use to balance “male and female energy.”
