H@CK – THE INSTITUTE

Hack, the new futuristic thriller from Mirjam Mous!

In the Scared Years, the Third World War was on the verge of breaking out and the earth was meanwhile in danger of perishing due to the changing climate. Economic growth was all that mattered. Fortunately, a counter-movement arose. More and more people started to develop sustainable projects on their own and fought for a better world: since the Great Turnaround, the earth has been doing better. The result is an ideal world, according to the five new leaders. But if you don’t follow their rules…

When Holden Winters discovers an old bunker with items from the Scared Years, it has major consequences. The taste of canned pineapple surpasses any vita and shake he’s ever tasted. And the fireworks he finds and sets off during Happy Day are much more beautiful and, above all, more real than the artificial fireworks show that is organized every year. But Holden does not go unnoticed and is arrested by the law enforcement officers. However, they are planning something completely different for him than he expected. Meanwhile, Holden’s sister Prissy receives mysterious messages from a stranger on her camphone. How come the sender knows everything about her, but she knows nothing about him? And why does she feel something is wrong with Holden’s arrest?

About Mirjam Mous’ other books:

‘A hyper-realistic and topical book.’ Jaapleest.nl

‘The books of Mirjam Mous are very suitable to read for the list!’ NOS (18-01-2018)

The question/answer ratio is just right at every point in the story. There are few thrillers for young people that can say that.’ Leesfeest.nl

And of course she doesn’t spare herself either. In What’s next? her witty, intimate and astute *LINDA.-*columns are bundled.
