Working Backwards: Insights, Stories and Secrets from Amazon
Have you always wondered how Amazon could become one of the most valuable companies of our time? Former top executives Bryar and Carr give a look behind the scenes of this high-profile company for the first time in Working Backwards. The result is both a hands-on guide and the story behind Amazon, describing what it means to be ‘Amazonian’ and how it has impacted their personal and professional lives. Amazon’s success has not been achieved through the genius of one individual, but through the determination with which a series of clearly formulated principles have been carried out. In this book, Bryar and Carr reveal the principles and processes that made Amazon grow big, from the 14 Leadership Principles to the thorough application process. Colin Bryar began his career at Amazon in 1998 and was Jeff Bezos’ right-hand man for many years as a technical advisor. Bill Carr came on board in 1999 and managed Amazon Music, Prime Music, Amazon Video, Prime Video and Amazon Studios for over fifteen years. Colin now works as a consultant and Bill is the COO of OfferUp, a digital marketplace for local buyers and sellers in the United States.
