New offer causes a lot of confusion among fans
Microsoft has announced that Game Pass subscribers will soon have a new option. However, the reorganization of Xbox Live Gold is now leaving some fans a bit perplexed when it comes to online features.
With Xbox Games Pass Core, Microsoft is adding a new option to its Game Pass lineup, replacing Xbox Live Gold in September 2023 after 21 years. With that, Xbox fans now have Four different Game Pass variants are available – which causes quite a bit of confusion in the community.
Xbox Game Pass: Microsoft offers four options
Starting September 14, players will have four subscription options to choose from: Xbox Game Pass Core, Xbox Game Pass Console, Xbox Game Pass PC, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The subscriptions differ either in how extensive their game library is – the new Core option, for example, only offers 19 games at launch – and whether they can be used on Xbox, PC or both platforms. Online features such as multiplayer can also be used with the subscriptions – but only in three out of four. Xbox Game Pass console is the only service that does not offer this feature and on Reddit this is exactly what causes a lack of understanding.
Xbox Game Pass console is missing a key feature
Xbox Game Pass console costs 10.99 euros per month – while Xbox Game Pass Core only costs 6.99 euros – but you cannot gamble online with it. In the Xbox Series X|S subreddit gamers are now questioning this very fact and criticize what they believe to be unclear communication from Microsoft, which could surprise some new users:
