so you always come home safely with your iPhone

From iOS 17 you no longer have to app yourself that you have arrived home safely. The Check In function will automatically arrange this for you from now on!

iOS 17 Check In: so you always get home safely

Maybe you know it: you leave a wonderful holiday with your friends back home and text your parents that you are getting into the car. Immediately you get next to a ‘Have a good trip!’ also the question if you want to text when you get home. Not a problem in itself, but you forget that of course. The result is your parents who immediately get stressed if they don’t hear anything.

With iOS 17, that is no longer necessary. Because then you can use the Check In function (in Dutch the function is called ‘Checking’) to automatically send a message when you have arrived at your destination. Handy for forgetful iPhone owners or your children who cycle home alone for the first time in the evening.

However, the function can do more. Check In also comes in handy when you are not home on time. Your iPhone keeps track of where you are. And does that take you (much) too long? Then you will receive a notification on your iPhone that you have to respond to yourself.

Don’t you? Then your location, your route, the battery status of your iPhone and the status of your mobile data will be shared with your contact person. They can then come and see what is going on if necessary and whether they should help you.
