New Macs suggested at WWDC 2023 with trade-in program expanded

Apple has already been rumored to at least show off the 15-inch MacBook Air at WWDC 2023, and a new clue suggests there will indeed be new Macs.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman revealed that Apple will expand its trade-in program to take back the Mac Studio, 13-inch MacBook Air M2, and 13-inch MacBook Pro M2. Most interestingly, it will come on June 5, which is the day the WWDC 2023 opening keynote takes place.

This means owners of these Macs will soon be able to trade in their current Mac for credit to buy a new Mac. MacBook Air M2 users will, for example, be able to trade in their 13-inch machine for the new 15-inch model that Apple is expected to announce at WWDC. The same goes for users of the 13-inch MacBook Pro M2.

Should we then understand that the Mac Studio will also have the right to a successor, knowing that it will soon be taken over? It will certainly be the case in the future, but not next week. No rumor announces the presentation of a new Mac Studio at WWDC. Mark Gurman, still him, recently let it be known that Apple would have decided to wait for the release of its M3 chip to draw a new Mac Studio. He had also clarified that the Apple Silicon Mac Pro would also be absent from WWDC.
