new MacBook Pro gets notch for webcam
There are often strange rumors circulating on the internet, but this one is very crazy. The new MacBook Pro that Apple will announce next week may get a notch. It would contain a webcam, microphone and True Tone sensor.

‘Notch for new MacBook Pro’
Apple is likely to announce the new MacBook Pro on October 18. The laptop, which would appear in 14 and 16 inch variants, is undergoing a major metamorphosis. For example, the screen edges are probably a lot thinner. To make that possible, the MacBook Pro will receive MacRumors possibly a notch. The website is based on rumors that can be read on Reddit and the Chinese social network Weibo.
We take this information with more than a few grains of salt, but it’s not completely impossible. If Apple does indeed make the edges of the MacBook wafer-thin, there will be little room left for the webcam.
The company would like to improve the quality of that camera. Because many people still meet via Zoom or similar services, it is of course nice if you come into sharp focus. The resolution is therefore likely to go up from 720p to 1080p.
The alleged notch of the MacBook Pro is rumored to be about the same size as that on the iPhone 12. In addition to the webcam, Apple would also house a microphone and a True Tone sensor in the cutout. True Tone ensures that the screen displays colors correctly in any light.
This is what we expect from Apple’s Unleashed event
Apple is expected to announce the new MacBook Pros during the Unleashed event. That works next Monday, October 18, at 7:00 PM Dutch time starting. In addition to a new design, the laptops will probably get an M1X chip. That is a faster variant of the M1 processor that we find in the MacBook Air, among other things.
During the event, we may also get to see a redesigned Mac mini, which also runs on the M1X chip. In addition, we continue to hope for the AirPods 3. The release of those new earbuds has been delayed for some time.
