New function prevents some disputes

WhatsApp adds up. The messenger gets a function that we actually didn’t even know we needed. But now that it has been integrated, we will no longer want to give it up. It’s about group calls and the ability to easily join them.

WhatsApp allows you to join ongoing group calls

Anyone who has missed a group call in WhatsApp knows the anger and strife. You actually wanted to be there, but somehow overslept and then have to ask for it via text message so that the Group call is started again. Personally, this happens to me all the time and is annoying not only for me, but also for everyone else who is already on the group call. That is changing now. You can now join active group calls:

In the video above, WhatsApp describes the function exactly. A call is announced to the family group, but one person is late. But that is no longer a problem, because the new function allows you to simply join an ongoing group call later. You no longer have to specifically cancel and restart the call. What is already standard with many messengers, will also become normal with WhatsApp.

WhatsApp did not test this new function very well in the beta version before. A symbol in the chat overview shows you when a group call is in progress. If you want to join this, you just have to switch to the group chat and go to “Join” in the top right corner. You will be included in the group call. Close WhatsApp vulnerability

The new function for group calls is automatically activated. But what you have to turn on yourself are the encrypted backups in the cloud. If you save your chats, photos and videos from WhatsApp on Google Drive or in Apple’s iCloud, then you have to encrypt them to prevent unauthorized access.
