new foldable smartphone is very expensive
Huawei has announced its new foldable smartphone. Where we were introduced to the Mate X two years ago, it is now the turn of the Mate X2. Unlike its predecessor, we see the screen in the inside of the case instead of the outside.
Huawei Mate X2 is official
Huawei has taken the canvas off the new foldable smartphone. It concerns Huawei Mate X2, where it succeeds the Mate X released in 2019. Last year we saw a modified version of it in the form of the Mate Xs. The smartphone is different from its predecessors. In the previous models we saw the screen on the outside, now it is on the inside. On the outside, the Huawei Mate X2 is still equipped with a screen. To be precise, this is a 6.45 inch OLED display (90Hz) with a resolution of 2700 x 1160 pixels. When opened, an 8.01 inch OLED screen (90Hz) with a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels appears.
The Huawei Mate X2 is powered by a Kirin 9000 chipset, along with 8GB of RAM and a storage space of 256GB / 512GB. If we look at the rest of the specs, we see that there is a 16MP front camera. The large camera module offers a 50MP main camera, assisted with a 16MP wide angle lens, 12MP telephoto (3x optical zoom) and 8MP super zoom camera with 10x optical zoom.
Huawei gives the smartphone EMUI 11, but supplies the device itself with Android 10. This is probably due to the American sanctions. That is a thing for such a very expensive device. Despite that, the smartphone has a stylish design, and there is a 4500 mAh battery with 55W charging.
Huawei informs DroidApp that it is not known whether the phone will also be released in the Netherlands. Prices start at EUR 2,300 for the 256GB version and EUR 2,415 for the 512GB version. This concerns converted amounts for China. Here in the Netherlands, if the device appears here, there will be additional costs for taxes and the like.
