Netflix Bitcoin scam documentary
It is known to be the largest financial crime case when it comes to stolen cryptocurrency. Never before had such a large sum been involved in such cases. On Tuesday, February 8, Lichtenstein and Morgan were arrested on suspicion of laundering 120,000 stolen Bitcoins. The stolen Bitcoin would come from a cryptocurrency exchange that was hacked in 2016.
It is precisely this unique aspect that is reason for Netflix to order a documentary about it. Production of the documentary is in the hands of Chris Smith. This man is already known from another documentary on Netflix. Namely FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened. He has also been executive producer of the bizarre series Tiger King.
Smith gets help in making the documentary by Nick Bilton. The creator of, among others, The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley. At the moment it is not yet known when the new documentary about the Bitcoin scam will be released on Netflix.
