‘My husband and I also just hug and flirt with each other when our children are around’
“Not a day goes by when my husband and I don’t touch,” says Elisha. ‘And I mean: give a kiss, cuddle on the couch or squeeze each other’s buttocks. Her children regularly roll their eyes during those playful, intimate moments. Elisha: ” Eh! they scream, but they know it’s fun. My husband and I always point out to them how nice it is that they have parents who really enjoy each other. ”
Ups and downs
Elisha knows all too well that many couples at home do not. ‘For someone else, the idea of constantly touching each other can be a turnoff. But it works for us – after twenty years and four kids, we still can’t keep hands off each other. That reminds me that my husband still finds me attractive. The day he quits, I have to worry. ‘
Is there never a fight? “Of course you do,” says Elisha. ‘We also just bicker in front of the children. In this way we show them that a healthy relationship has ups and downs – that’s important. ‘
