‘My child gets gifts with Sinterklaas and Christmas’: this is what you think

A small selection of the answers.

  • Maud: ‘Well, here it is their birthday in December, so now only presents for the birthday and Sinterklaas. If they don’t believe anymore, we’ll trade Sinterklaas for Christmas. But already think it’s tough to come up with what they should get.’
  • Kyana: ‘We don’t like Saint Nicholas very much. Then it’s small presents and sweets, we unpack extra at Christmas.’
  • Jacqueline: ‘Yes, but usually with Sinterklaas toy gifts and with Christmas more useful things that are often used and some fireworks for New Year’s Eve and games for the family.’
  • Debbie: ‘We have an Advent calendar here. Everyone can place six wishes in the boxes. Such as staying up extra long, going to the cinema, a foot massage, playing games all day, etc. The children really enjoy that.’
  • Nadine: ‘With Sinterklaas we really celebrate for the children with lots of presents. And at Christmas there are two small gifts per child under the Christmas tree. But the rest is for Mom and Dad when they go to bed.’
