Motorola presents the new Edge 30 Ultra, Fusion and Neo . in Milan

Motorola has selected the Italian fashion city of Milan to present three new smartphones. In recent times, many reports have been circulated about the new Edge 30 series, so today is the day and we are introduced to the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, the Edge 30 Fusion and the Edge 30 Neo.

Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, Fusion and Neo

Motorola announced its new flagship products in the Edge series tonight in Milan. No fewer than three models have been added to the manufacturer’s portfolio, which means that the Edge series has been expanded again. Recently, we mainly saw expansion for the G-series, which means that there is also a lot of choice in models in that segment. The Edge series now seems to be heading in that direction as well. Motorola’s Edge series is more in the higher segment. The focus with the Edge series is on high speed, latest photography possibilities and a great audio experience. They are the most beautiful devices available today, according to the brand.

Below we list the three new smartphones that have been announced by Motorola.

Motorola Edge 30 Ultra

Starting with the new Motorola flagship. That’s the new Motorola Edge 30 Ultra. This smartphone comes with a 200 megapixel camera, with which you should be able to take the most beautiful photos. Because pixel binning is used, photos are provided with a lot of details and color. Thanks to the larger sensor, it can handle large contrast differences.

Along with this high-resolution camera lens, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra also comes with a 50-megapixel wide-angle lens, along with a 12-megapixel telephoto lens that allows you to zoom in 2x. The high resolution of the wide-angle lens ensures that you can also take good photos with that lens. With these specifications, this Motorola is the first smartphone with a 200 megapixel camera on board, this sensor comes from Samsung. With the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, Motorola also gives you the option to film in 8K. You can take selfies with the 60-megapixel selfie camera on the front of the device.

The Edge 30 Ultra also gets a 6.67-inch 144Hz OLED screen with a Full HD+ resolution. There is the super-fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, 256GB of storage memory and 12GB of RAM. We also see a 4610 mAh battery with the device that you can fully charge again after 19 minutes, thanks to the 125W fast charger. This is supplied with the device. The smartphone will be launched with Android 12.

A handy addition that we see in the Ultra, but also in the Fusion is the option to use Edge Lights. The continuous screen edges light up with a new notification, call or alarm. It can also handle the Ready For platform, both wired and wireless, and you can choose between the colors Interstellar Black and Starlight White when purchasing.

Motorola Edge 30 Fusion

The second new device is the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion, which should be the perfect combination between a stylish design, premium functions and a decent price. This smartphone comes with a Snapdragon 888+ chipset, and is therefore still a powerhouse of a smartphone. The phone manufacturer provides the device with a 6.55-inch 144Hz continuous OLED screen and a triple camera. It consists of a 50 megapixel main lens, a 13 megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2 megapixel lens for depth. There is also 12 RAM and 256GB of storage here. The smartphone gets a 32 megapixel front camera and a 4400 mAh battery that you can charge with 68W. Motorola has also added the option to charge this phone wirelessly.

The Motorola Edge 30 Fusion, like the Ultra model, offers the option to illuminate the edges with Edge Lights when new notifications are received. We also see the Dolby Atmos stereo speakers here. You can purchase the Edge 30 Fusion in three color options; Aurora White, Cosmic Gray and the Neptune Blue. With the latter, the material of the back consists of vegan leather.

Motorola Edge 30 Neo

If you’re looking for more color, the Motorola Edge 30 Neo is a nice choice. This is positioned at the bottom of the Edge series, but still has countless possibilities. The Neo is a result of the collaboration with Pantone, known for its colours. This year ‘Color of the year’ is Very Peri, a purple color in which this smartphone will also be available. You can also choose from the colors Ice Palace, Aqua Foam and Black Onyx. This comes down to the colors black, purple, silver and green. Motorola releases the Neo with a 6.28-inch pOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a Full-HD+ display.

For taking photos, the Edge 30 Neo has been given a dual camera with a 64-megapixel main lens and a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens. The 4020 mAh battery of the device can be charged with a power of 68W. The Edge 30 Neo comes to the Netherlands in the configuration 8GB RAM and 128GB storage space.

Software and updates

Motorola has renewed its own My UX skin with several additions. For example with the Neo, with which the spectacular color is not only reflected in the housing, but also in the software. New theme options allow you to customize the interface to match the color of the device. Motorola has also been working on its own font called Rookery, which is also debuting on the Edge 30 series. This together with new icons. With Custom Shortcut you can immediately start an application of your choice with a double tap on the back of the device.

In addition, Ready For has been renewed, which allows you to connect the phone to your computer. It supports instant clipboard to access your clipboard. You can also stream apps, there is an improved webcam, the phone can be automatically connected to the PC and you can quickly exchange files via drag-and-drop.

In terms of security, Motorola has added extra security for the Ultra and the Fusion after ThinkShield. With Moto Strongbox there is a safe in the hardware of the device for, for example, your digital car key and sensitive files can be stored without worrying about security.

Motorola is also immediately clear about the update policy. For the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, the user can count on three Android updates (Android 13, Android 14 and Android 15) and four years of security updates. These updates are rolled out once every two months, the brand confirms to DroidApp. The Neo and the Fusion get two Android updates and are guaranteed three years of security updates.

Availability

Motorola is already launching the new Edge 30 series this week, although it may take a while until they are actually available in stores. The price of the Ultra is 899.99 euros, which makes this high-end device clearly cheaper than many of its competitors. For the Fusion you have to transfer 599.99 euros to Motorola. The Motorola Edge 30 Neo will cost 399.99 euros. Some color choices are only offered through Motorola itself.
