More than 25 million Vortex users subscribe to the Xbox Game Pass

In connection with the large acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Microsoft also boasted its Xbox Game Pass service. The official figures were last published less than a year ago as part of the financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year. At that time, the Game Pass had 18 million subscribers, today it is more than 25 million. Although there may still be speculation about sustainability, there is no doubt that the players themselves appreciate the service.

During the year, it was speculated several times what numbers the service could reach at the moment, and this was also related to the fact that it often praised the Microsoft Game Pass, including the growth of users. It was not known exactly how fast and steep it was. However, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick also started to suggest, which we also wrote about at the time. In a joint debate, he even confronted Phil Spencer at 30 million. He passed it and only repeated the last publicly confirmed information, that is, the 18 million. Zelnick’s estimate was therefore overshot, but it can still be said that interest in subscriptions is still growing.

“You have about 30 million subscribers, Phil, don’t you?” “Something like that,” Zelnick asked his colleague.

Phil Spencer obviously has high hopes for the Game Pass, so with the announcement of the acquisition, there were also details about the service itself. New additions to the Microsoft family of players mean an expansion of the subscription offer, as many older and new titles of new colleagues are to be added. We will see if Sony, which is supposed to prepare the Game Pass for the competition, will also get involved, and there have been more and more signs lately.
