Microsoft acquired content moderation company Two Hat

Almost 10 years ago, a former Disney Interactive security specialist founded Two hat. It is a content moderation provider that uses artificial intelligence to filter billions of human interactions. In fact, Microsoft has been working with Two Hat for several years to keep harmful content away from Xbox communities.

Microsoft wanted to move up a gear and recently decided to acquire Two Hat. The terms of the agreement were kept confidential. Nevertheless, we know that Microsoft intends to take advantage of this acquisition to improve the moderation of content in games but also in the company’s consumer services.

Microsoft will support all existing Two Hat customers

As Xbox Product Manager Dave McCarthy acknowledges, “ Two Hat’s technology has helped make global communities on Xbox, Minecraft, and MSN safer for users “.

Microsoft has also assured that it will not stop supporting other Two Hat customers even though it is a ” considerable investment “. Apparently Microsoft will use this acquisition to help ” global online communities to be safer and more inclusive so that everyone can participate, contribute positively and thrive “.
