‘Meanwhile peace with the fact that it will remain with one son’

Monique Westenberg never hid her wish for a second child. But after the break with André Hazes, the chance of a brother or sister for son André also decreased. In a candid interview she tells what that did to her.

For years, 44-year-old Monique had the wish for a second child. “It has had a big impact on me to suddenly have to put it next to me, because we were in the middle of the process when André left,” she says in an interview with Beau Monde. The two broke up in March 2021.

Very grateful

Andre Jr. and Monique had son André (6) together. “I am now at peace with the fact that it will remain with one son, I am already very grateful for that,” Monique continues. “That little one and I have so much fun together. He is such a lovely, cheerful, funny and inquisitive child. I really notice that he is getting bigger and I can have conversations with him, which is very pleasant.” With two dogs in the house, whom Monique also sees as her children, it is never quiet at home. “And who knows, I might meet a nice man who is a father himself,” says Monique.
