M1 Max from MacBook Pro 2021 shines in tests
During the Unleashed event, Apple presented a mouth-watering MacBook Pro, for example because of the processor. A Geekbench test that has surfaced now confirms it: the new MacBook Pro 2021 is more powerful than ever.

M1 Max from MacBook Pro: Amazing Performance
The MacBook Pro 2021 models are powered by new Pro chips: the M1 Pro and M1 Max. Both processors are equipped with a 10-core CPU. The Max chip has more GPU power: it can be configured with 32 graphics cores.
According to Apple, the new M chips are up to 70 percent faster than the M1 processor and that processor was already astonishingly fast. An alleged benchmark (such a test gives a good indication of the performance of a processor) of the high-end M1 Max chip shows that we can indeed expect a lot from the new processor.
A Geekbench 5 score of an ‘Apple M1 Max’ with 32 GPU cores surfaced on the Geekbench website. In the single core score – where processor cores are used to perform one task – the M1 Max is good for 1749 points. That’s only slightly more than the M1, which scored 1712 points.
Multi-talented
Where the MacBook Pro’s new M1 Max chip excels is performing multiple tasks at once. The multi core score is 11,542 points, which is more than one and a half times more than the 7382 points of the 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1 processor.
In terms of multi-core performance, the M1 Max outperforms virtually all other Mac chips. Only the Mac Pro and iMac models with 16 to 24-core Xeon chips from Intel perform better. Then you are talking about professional desktops that cost thousands of euros more.
Incidentally, it is not yet 100 percent certain that the benchmark does indeed come from a MacBook Pro with the M1 Max chip. John Poole, developer at Geekbench, at least believes the scores are legit. More results will surface over the next week as the first MacBook Pro models begin shipping on Tuesday, October 26.
