Lol: Members of State Accidentally Send Angry Letter to Ex-CEO Yahoo
The proof that you have to keep an eye out: members of the US Congress sent an angry letter to several CEOs. And accidentally the ex-CEO of Yahoo.
A funny story from the United States. Marissa Meyer, ex-CEO of Yahoo, suddenly receives a letter from the US Congress. A team of Republicans want to express their feelings towards the CEOs of a number of large companies. Including Yahoo.
Letter to ex-CEO Yahoo
Small problem: Marissa Meyer has not been CEO of Yahoo since 2017. So it has nothing to do with Yahoo’s decisions anymore. A somewhat embarrassing mistake for the congressmen.
In any case, there are strange things going on with regard to this angry letter. In addition to the ex-CEO of Yahoo, companies such as Amazon, Apple, Verizon, Google, Facebook and more have been approached. In the meantime, companies such as Reddit, TikTok and Telegram are also relevant to the case in question, but they were not approached. The fact that only old(er) major media were approached may also explain why ex-CEO Mayer was still CEO at Yahoo.
Why were the companies approached? That has to do with the storming of the Capitol early this year. To find the cause of the storm, all kinds of things are pulled out. One of the actions is the request to 15 companies to view data. These are the aforementioned companies, including Yahoo. The Republican side of Congress disagrees less and wants to move to lawsuits if they actually show their data. An angry letter, including one to the ex-CEO of Yahoo, is the result.
A remarkable mistake. It is not known whether a letter has since been sent to the correct person. (via Engadget)
