Huawei bought 4G versions of other popular chipsets from Qualcomm

The sanctions imposed on the Chinese company Huawei made her life very uncomfortable. It started with a ban on using Google services on its devices, but today the company can no longer manufacture its own Kirin processors and use 5G technology. As the processor is one of the basic parts of the smartphone, the company was forced to buy supplies from other manufacturers. Of course, they won’t last her forever, so she came up with an interesting solution with which Qualcomm will help her. The manufacturer will supply it with 4G versions of its popular chipsets, informs the Gizchina portal.

Qualcomm Huaweiu helped produce the Huawei P50, which runs the Snapdragon 888 without a 5G modem. However, it does not end there, in the future the Chinese manufacturer will be able to buy other processors in the 4G version. It will be a middle-class chipset Snapdragon 778G and later the latest flagship processor Snapdragon 898. Both support 5G as standard, but they will remain in Huawei devices only with the support of the older 4G.

Snapdragon 778G in 4G version may be seen this year in the upcoming Huawei Nova 9 series

It is not yet known which smartphones will have the new chipsets. We assume that the company will use the flag processor in the upcoming flagships of the P and Mate series. Snapdragon 778G in 4G version can power one of the models from the Nova 9 series. It is to be introduced in the coming months.
