Dad blunders a little further: “He just rolled off the dresser”

We all do stupid or odd things when it comes to our kids. We can laugh about it later, but at the moment it’s not always thigh-shattering. This time the honor to some fathers to confess to Kek Mama.

Rob (35), father of Rik (4) and Simon (2):

“I remembered that you should never walk away from a changing table when your baby is lying on it. But also at that age? Rik was not even four months old when he rolled off. There was nothing in the books about learning to roll so early. Fortunately, the top drawer of the dresser was open and he landed on a pile of rompers. I really felt like a bad father.”

The same pack

Samuel (32) is father of Loa (1):

“Very often my girlfriend picks up Loa at the nursery. That’s how it works out with our work schedules. When Loa was 4 months old, I had to pick her up once. I talked to the leader with her on my arm and then we went home. Once there, her mother visibly got the fright of her life when she looked into the Maxi-Cosi. Because I brought home the wrong baby. And to make matters worse, it was a boy. Apparently they were wearing the same suit. In my defense: the leader hadn’t noticed either!”

Grandma’s garden

Dirk-Jan (42) is father of Abel (5) and Nora (3):

My mother always babysits on Mondays. The kids do a lot of fun things there. They planted a vegetable garden together. My mother sent some photos of the happening via the app. We were chatting for a while in the garden when I came to pick up the kids. Without thinking, I bent down and pulled some weeds out of the ground. Turned out to be exactly the repotted flowers of the children. I have never heard Nora cry so loudly.”

Watch the beep

Rien (38) is the father of Sientje (3) and the second is on the way:

“When Sientje was still a baby, I once, out of irritation – she cried a lot – put her in the back of the car a little too quickly with Maxi-Cosi. Normally there is a click when the carrier is properly secured, but I did not pay attention to that. I had barely left the street when I had to brake unexpectedly… and then Sientje, Maxi-Cosi and all, slid to the other side of the car. I had a heart attack and cried and said sorry a thousand times. Fortunately, little was wrong. Nice detail: she was suddenly happy again.”
