The Lidl brand likes to be talked about in all areas including new technologies. On February 1, the German brand is launching into connected home objects with 8 products that will be unveiled.
In 2021, the home automation market is now firmly established with major players in all product categories. Manufacturers like Phillips, Nest or Netatmo offer high quality connected objects even if it means paying the price. Teachers like Ikea have, in 2018, offered a range of products for the home just as qualitative but at low prices. Lidl also wants its piece of the pie with its Silvercrest products to appeal at competitive prices.

What Lidl connected objects are available and at what price?
The range called Lidl Smart Home is already available in Switzerland and Belgium. It should make its introduction in France with 8 home automation products scheduled for February 1 in 1,550 stores across the country. In order to make a place for itself in the sun, the German firm will deploy three connected LED bulbs E27 and GU10 will be marketed at a price of 7.99 euros while the E14 bulb will be at 9.99 euros. By this strategy, Phillips is not the target competition but Ikea which has its home automation range at low prices.
Among the other connected products are: a luminous ribbon at 17.99 €, a connected socket at 9.99 €, a connected heater at 39.99 € and a general management box at 19.99 euros. The products designed by the Zigbee 3.0 protocol, they are compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa voice assistants. Connected objects can also be controlled from the Lidl Smart Home application. As a reminder, the brand had already made people talk about it with its wireless headphones supposed to compete with the AirPods. The product was marketed at € 20.
