Last year, the Czechs called out how weird. We know how many billions of minutes have been spent

The Czech Statistical Office published figures a few days ago that testify to use of the domestic telephone and data network in 2020. Statistics, for example, suggest that last year Czechs actually kept a greater distance from each other and connected more via phone calls. Within the territory of the Czech Republic a total of 25.7 billion minutes were called, 3.7 billion more than in 2019. After adding the 27 billion minutes.

In 2020, it was registered in the mobile network as part of the voice service 10.7 million active tariff SIM cards, ie by 1.5 million more than in 2015. In the same period, on the contrary, the number of prepaid SIM cards logically decreased. And by almost one million, so in 2020 there were less than 4 million of them in the Czech Republic. Number of subscribers using mobile internet for telephones provided as part of the voice service is growing in the long run. While in 2010 3.1 million of these connections were recorded in the Czech Republic, in 2020 the statistics showed almost ten million.

Number of fixed internet connections has grown by half in the last ten years. In 2020, almost 2.3 million were recorded. In the case of fixed access, the Internet via the telephone network (xDSL) clearly predominates throughout the monitored period; in 2020, there were almost a million connections.

For fixed internet access, they were recorded in the Czech Republic between 2015 and 2020 progressive changes in advertised speed. In the monitored period, there was the most significant, more than threefold, increase in connections with the advertised speed higher than 100 Mbit / s and by almost 730 thousand connections. On the contrary, the number of fixed connections with a speed of less than 10 Mbit / s is falling very sharply, and in 2020 there were only 70,000 of them.

How much did you contribute to these numbers?
