Bohemia Interactive sold 5.7 million games and DLC -apkrig last year

Developers from the largest Czech gaming studio Bohemia Interactive boasted the results for the past year 2020. No matter how dramatically it was affected by measures related to the spread of coronavirus, Bohemka reports a very successful twelve months and underlines them with a number of very optimistic numbers. “While many industries stagnated last year, the gaming industry prospered worldwide. Bohemia Interactive experienced a very busy year, which was also the second most successful store in the company’s more than 20-year history, “says the press release. The continuous improvement of individual games and their expansion to other platforms continued, especially Vigor, which gradually got from the Xbox to the Switch and at the end of the year to the PlayStation. The interest in this title and the regular in the form of the third Army, DayZ then meant for Bohemia Interactive 5.7 million copies of games sold and their expansion, respectively. revenues exceeding 1.6 billion crowns.

In terms of individual titles, Arma 3 was the most powerful in terms of sales – last year, 1.3 million copies of the basic version of the game and 2.2 million DLC were sold. However, DayZ’s survival was also successful, acquiring 1.3 million new players in 2020 and buying 758,000 DLCs along with others. However, Bohemia Interactive is not bad even from the point of view of active players, of whom there were over 14 million in total, and the aforementioned free to play event Vigor also speaks significantly to this issue. Again, divided into individual titles – Arma 3 had 2.3 million active players, Vigor 4.6 million, sandbox Ylands 645 thousand and is still the liveliest around DayZ with more than 6.4 million players.

We therefore subtly recall that seven years have passed since the release of Army 3 – regardless of active development and the new DLC – and we would not be surprised if current events indicate the active development of a full-fledged continuation.

But also very interesting things are happening in the background, and the press release blinks inconspicuously that something bigger is probably already happening at Bohemia Interactive. First, over the past 12 months, developers have been working to improve Enfusion’s internal engine, which, according to the current statement, should continue to be a key part of future titles. In addition to advanced physical simulation, the developers also focused on the graphical aspects and support of community modes, for which Bohemka is known and appreciated by the community. 103 new employees and more than 50 still active advertisements for other positions go hand in hand with preparation for the future. We therefore subtly recall that seven years have passed since the release of Army 3 – regardless of active development and the new DLC – and we would not be surprised if current events indicate the active development of a full-fledged continuation.

However, the press release does not talk about it for understandable reasons, and in addition to the above details about 4 active projects, it also recalls a special charity package in Vigor, through the sale of which it was possible to donate 250,000 crowns hacker attacks.
