Kill or spare Pierre and recruit

In Jagged Alliance 3 you have the choice of killing Pierre or sparing and later rescuing him. We’ll tell you how to do that in this guide.

Playing with fire, Pierre believes that only by cooperating with the paramilitary legion can a great service be rendered to the island chain of Grand Chien. His father Luc sees it differently. He thinks his son has been tricked and wants you to spare him. You can now find out which decisions ultimately pay off.

As soon as you do that Village of Ernie (H2) freed, you can visit the resident Luc and talk to him. If you ask him, he tells you about his son Pierre, who commands troops of the Legion. He asks you to spare Pierre if you meet him. You can tell him that Pierre is a criminal or you can do your best. Both answer options have no direct influence on the story.

Pierre is in the fortified Fort B’leau Bleu (H4), although you should not seek him out immediately. On the one hand, you can still weaken the fort through various tasks, on the other hand, Pierre is more friendly to you if you help the inhabitants of the village of Ernie. If you want to spare Pierre and maybe even add him to your squad later, you should first meet the following requirements:

  • Complete the quest “Help for Ernie Village”. You will receive the tasks from Basil, who is also in the village. In the quest you have to train a militia for the village and get a machine gun from a bunker.
  • Spare Pierre’s father, Luc, once you can make the decision by rescuing Herman.
  • Leave Bastien alive on the first meeting.

After that you can go to the fort. You will not be immediately involved in a fight, but can only have a conversation with Pierre. If you have met the above requirements, Pierre will only tell you that he will spare you and then withdraw into the interior of the fort. If you have not met the requirements, you will instead have a dialogue in which you have different answer options available.

Tip: You can pretend in the dialogue that you want to join the Legion, whereupon Pierre will give you a task. However, we do not recommend you to choose this dialogue option. The task only leads you back to the starting sector you have already visited and does not change the result. Pierre will not trust you even after completing the task.

Whatever you decide at the end you have to conquer the fort and eliminate all soldiers. Then look for the badly injured Pierre on the first floor of the large building in the fort and speak to him. You can now decide whether you want to kill him or spare him. Executing him will not bring you any benefit. If you spare him, you can still save him or even recruit him at a later point in time.

If you spared Pierre, you won’t hear from him for a while. You should devote yourself to other matters first and strengthen your mercenaries a little. In our playthrough, we only found out something about Pierre’s whereabouts again after we got to the outpost Camp Savane (F7) have conquered.

Slave trader Graaf, in an exchange with the Major, reveals over the radio that he will punish Pierre. Graaf is the supervisor of the mine in Diamond Red (A2). However, if you follow the clue, you won’t find Luc’s son there. The “Pierre” mission is updated, but only with the note that the target person was not found. Instead, Pierre is in the very east of the map at Camp Bien-Chen (F19). It’s a long journey there and the Legion soldiers on site are relatively well equipped.

Conquer the sector and you’ll find Pierre tied to a pole to the east of the area. If you have met all the requirements, you can now recruit him. To do this, select the dialogue option: “You can help us put things right”. If you spared him but did not meet the requirements, he will refuse.
