This successful action hit brings a breath of fresh air to the agent genre

spy films are often full of gadgets and cunning schemes, but Matthew Vaughn’s approach unearths a very different spy film.

Gary Unwin (Taron Egerton), also known as Eggsy, lives in South London. An intelligent young man, but branded by his family background and the early death of his father, he often slips into petty crime. When he messes with a few people, Harry Hart (Colin Firth) comes to his aid and Eggsy is impressed by his fighting skills. It turns out that Harry works for a secret service that Eggsy’s father also worked for. Despite his lack of discipline, Harry offers the boy training as an agent and he accepts. As Eggsy struggles through the workout, something is brewing in the background. The multi-billionaire V (Samuel L. Jackson) plans to eliminate the climate crisis through mass murder. “Kingsman: The Secret Service” can you on Sunday, June 25th, 2023 from 8:15 p.m. on ProSieben. The original film is rated 16+, which is why ProSieben will show the film in a cut version.

The agent film is not based on a true story, but in our video we show you which films are based on such events:

Kingsman is the brutal brother of Mission: Impossible

Even in one of the early scenes, the characters get into an escalating fight, which quickly makes it clear that “Kingsman: The Secret Service” takes a different approach than well-known genre representatives such as “Mission: Impossible”. Comically exaggerated, violence is shown much more intensively and explicitly than with Bond and the like. Humor is also clearly pulled into the film by director Vaughn and is a hallmark of the Kingsman series. But the characters themselves are often more caricatures of stereotypes and not complex characters, even if they are given background and depth.

So it goes on with the Kingsman

2021 came with “The King’s Man” the most recent contribution to the franchise. The film tells the history and making of the Kingsman, but it was not well received by viewers and critics, nor was it very successful financially. However, since the first two films performed well at the box office despite the high level of brutality and the associated R rating, there will be a third and final film for Eggsy. So far, however, with “Kingsman: The Blue Blood” only the name known. The project is still in pre-production.
