IWC watch and Hot Wheels car are worth a fortune together

Now the child in you comes out. And there’s nothing wrong with that. This IWC watch and Hot Wheels car combo.

When two brands you are a fan of work together, the fun is twice as much, isn’t it? In that respect I can really appreciate a watch brand like IWC and Hot Wheels, known for their toy cars. Both companies have joined forces for a unique collaboration. The result is a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL made to scale with a special edition IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph.

The Mercedes Gullwing is made on a scale of 1:64. You and I don’t fit in that. The watch is ‘real’ and you can wear it nicely on the wrist. However, the scale model of the car is really something special. Hot Wheels hardly makes such detailed models. For example, the Gullwing can really open and close its doors, it has a roll cage, racing stickers have been added and there are plenty of references to racing. So no half work.

Through auction house Bonhams you get the chance to buy this IWC and Hot Wheels combination. Bonhams expects a yield of between 9,000 and 50,000 pounds. That is converted between 10,674 and 59,000 euros. The highest bid at the time of writing is at £14,000. The auction has less than three days left. The proceeds go to charity.
