The iPhone SE 2022 has been presented, and is in many ways better than its direct predecessor. A faster A15 processor was to be expected, but a better battery? It was not on our list. The iPhone SE 2022 lasts longer, and here’s why.

We didn’t see that coming. In addition to a lot of other hardware improvements, the iPhone SE 2022 also gets a much better battery. That is – most likely – not due to a higher capacity, because the design of the iPhone SE 2022 is still the same as two years ago.

But due to the close integration with the A15 Bionic chip and a changed ‘battery chemistry’, Apple has managed to get just a little more battery life from the 1812 mAh. We list what you can expect from the battery life of the iPhone SE 3.

Compared to the second-generation iPhone SE, you can watch videos for two hours longer and listen to music for ten hours longer. The battery time is therefore on the same level as that of the iPhone 12 mini.

The iPhone 13 mini may last two hours longer for video and five hours for audio, but the step the iPhone SE 3 has taken is impressive. Especially when you consider that it does not require a substantially larger battery.

Charged to 50% in half an hour

If you use a 20 W charging block, the iPhone SE 2022 is charged to 50 percent within half an hour thanks to fast charging. However, the predecessor was already able to do that. Our wish list still contained support for MagSafe, but unfortunately: the iPhone SE 3 has to do without the smart magnetic technology for charging.
