iPhone 15 Pro Max gets new camera

There have been rumors for months about the iPhone 15 Pro Max and which camera the phone will get exactly. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is reportedly getting a periscope lens. Such a lens is intended to zoom in much further than has been possible with previous iPhones so far. With the iPhone 14 Pro you can currently zoom in up to 3x and it is expected that this will be much more with the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The periscope lens therefore probably represents a significant improvement for the camera of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. How much better this camera will actually be was still unclear until now, but new rumors now provide a little more clarity. Camera can zoom in more than twice as far

Earlier, renders of the iPhone 15 Pro Max leaked, especially the camera island of the new phone stood out. The camera lenses protrude much less on the iPhone 15 Pro Max than we have seen on the renders of the iPhone 15 Pro. The fact that the lenses of the new phone are thinner confirms the arrival of the Presicoop lens. This new lens is placed horizontally in the phone.

That is the big difference with the current iPhone cameras, because until now the cameras were placed vertically in the iPhone. To zoom in far, lenses must have a certain size and depth. Apple has always corrected this problem by making the cameras slightly thicker than the iPhone itself, causing the cameras to protrude. With the periscope lens, the thickness of the iPhone is no longer a problem.
