iPhone 15 camera is better in low light (thanks to new sensor)

Apple’s new iPhone gets a lot better at taking photos in low light. This is due to a better sensor in the iPhone 15 camera.

iPhone 15 camera gets new sensor

According to Nikkei, the iPhone 15 will get a new sensor from Sony. If Apple does indeed switch to a different sensor, that is good news. The new sensor from Sony is a lot better in low light. As a result, you will also experience much less problems with underexposure or overexposure in your photos in the dark.

The new sensor will probably be used for the wide-angle lens (Apple calls it the main camera) on the iPhone. It is not known whether the other lenses will also get a better sensor.

More about the iPhone 15

The iPhone 15 Pro in particular will get many new features that the regular iPhone 15 does not have. For example, the new flagship is equipped with the new A17 chip, a faster USB-C port, considerably more RAM and a better camera zoom.

According to the rumors, however, much more will change with the iPhone 15. For example, the new smartphone no longer has buttons that you can physically press. Instead, Apple is switching to buttons that vibrate when you press them. You may already know this from the home button of the iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone SE 2020 and iPhone SE 2022.

Because of these new buttons, the iPhones also get extra vibration motors. These ‘Taptic Engines’ ensure that the place where the ‘buttons’ are located vibrate when you press them. For example, it feels like you are pressing a button, but in reality there is no physical button anymore.
