24x the nicest (subtropical) swimming pools for children

Tip: due to the corona measures, not all swimming pools or facilities may be fully accessible yet. Most baths require you to book your ticket in advance for a specific time slot.

1. CenterParcs de Eemhof – Zeewolde

This bungalow park was the first in the Netherlands with a subtropical swimming paradise. You have a wave pool, several children’s pools, a family slide to tear down together and a wild water course. Before you go, check the website for reservation information and visiting tips, because it can be busy (especially during the holidays).

2. Aqua Mundo – Heijen

This swimming paradise (also from CenterParcs) is one that you can tell. In addition to extensive baby and children’s pools, this pool also has a Coral pool. Here you can snorkel between real fish. Or go to the children’s pool with palm tree fountains and a real jungle play island. Oh, and how about a ride through the log flume?

3. The Vennenbos – Hapert

Ideal for the whole family. The subtropical swimming paradise of Landal Het Vennenbos includes a Wild Wave super slide slide, a cool island in the style of cool surfers, a wave pool, several whirlpools and a Kids Jungle pool.

4. Aquafun Sportiom – ‘s-Hertogenbosch

This is one of the largest swimming paradises in the Netherlands. You have a wild water slide, huge slides and the Turtle Bay pool for the little ones.

5. Tiki Pool – Wassenaar

This slide paradise in the Duinrell amusement park is perhaps one of the most famous children’s pools in the Netherlands. Most visitors come for the 21(!) different slides with more than 1.5 kilometers of slide fun. There is also a wave pool, a whirlpool and a completely renovated (and heated) outdoor pool. For the little ones there is water park Playa. Here the water is never higher than 15 centimeters.

Here too, your child can have fun all day long. There is a toddler and toddler pool, you can go disco swimming and the slide has beautiful visual effects. Please note: from May 19 only job swimming is still possible here.

8. The Sand Sea – Bussum

Great for older children, but especially for the little ones. This pool has a real Miffy pool. And we can assure you: your toddler will not want to leave there.

9. The Roompot – Kamperland

In this pool there is also plenty to do for young and old. You will find a wave pool, children’s pool with play equipment, giant slide and large outdoor pool, a sauna and (not unimportantly) a good bar for snacks and drinks.

10. The Bonte Weaver – Assen

Ideal: are you exhausted after swimming? Then you can just stay here overnight. Although there is also a bowling alley, so the chance that your child will want to sleep is small. Oh well: you just dive into the sauna.

11. The Scheg – Deventer

There is a log flume almost 80 meters long and a huge slide that winds you around the building – ideal for children (or adults) who like speed. Prefer to ride with your child? Then you also have special family slides.

12. Bahia – Bocholt

Just across the border in Bocholt (Germany) you will find Bahia. Swimming, diving, water gymnastics, relaxing in the whirlpool, sliding on the AQUA CHOICE interchangeable slide, or the 70-metre white water course: everything is possible here. And all that in a nice Caribbean atmosphere.

13. The Mirandabad – Amsterdam

You will find this swimming pool in Amsterdam South. The wave pool looks beautiful because of the glass dome and children can also have fun through all the slides.

14. Swimfun – Joure, Friesland

In addition to swimming through the high waves of the wave pool, there are plenty of slides here, such as the Magic Oval and Tube Slide. There is also a wild water course that goes through the jungle, past caves and waterfalls. Enough swimming? Pass by the extensive spa with various herbal baths and steam rooms.

15. Aquamar – Katwijk

With a water slide, a white water course with rapids and a wonderfully warm whirlpool, you can be sure that this will be a successful afternoon.

16. Aqua Mexicana – Slagharen

A hot tub surrounded by palm trees, colorful verandas and a lovely outdoor beach: in this park you imagine yourself in Mexico. With dazzling light effects and music, children can have hours of fun in the water.

17. Swimming paradise Preston Palace – Almelo

What could be more fun than swimming in a tropical jungle? Splash under a sky full of stars and enjoy cascading waterfalls. There is also a special pool with jungle animals for children.

18. Caribabad – Gorinchem

With a slide of no less than 112 meters, it will take you a while to whiz down. Extra fun: you can choose from sixteen themes upstairs and slide down under a starry sky with various audio and visual effects. At the end of the ride, a photo will be taken of you and your speed and smash points will be added together. You can email the photo to yourself afterwards.

19. The Hollow Bolle Splash – Tuitjenhorn

The slide from the Holle Bolle Speelboom alone is a party for children, but let’s not forget the fountain square and the disco slide.

20. Tropiqua – Veendam

There is a separate pool with a small slide for toddlers and preschoolers. You can go for the massage jets and the bubble bath.

21. Bad Hesselingen – Meppel

Not only a child-friendly swimming pool, but also environmentally friendly: the water is heated with residual heat from a factory. The outdoor pool is highly recommended, because you can swim in it all year round. Yes, even in the middle of winter.

22. The Torch – Ridderkerk

It may not be extremely big here, but you’ll have everything that makes a child feel: from bubble baths and a slide to paddling pools with play equipment. And you can use the fine sauna yourself.

23. Landal De Lommerbergen – Reuver

The bungalow park alone is highly recommended, but with this swimming paradise next to it, it will be an unforgettable weekend. Children can romp in the Kids Jungle Pool and for speed demons there is a huge slide. Also nice: the wave pool and the Exotic Garden.

24. De Wilder – Haaksbergen

Whirlpools, a slide (80 meters), rapids and wave pool: your child can’t help but have a good time here.
