iPhone 12 gives Galaxy S21 a beating in speed test (video)

Despite the new Snapdragon 888 of the Samsung Galaxy S21, the Apple iPhone 12 wins in every area.

Eternal competitors Apple and Samsung both recently delivered a flagship. The Apple iPhone 12 and Samsung Galaxy S21 are quite similar in price. But as we are used to, the Galaxy S21 manages to dominate in terms of specs. Surprisingly, however, this does not apply to the performance!

iPhone 12 vs Galaxy S21

The speed test by AndroidAuthority shows that Apple has practically delivered a better smartphone than Samsung. On paper, the latter had a better processor with the Snapdragon 888, but as is often the case, Apple manages to squeeze every bit of performance from relatively modest specs.

This is also the case in the comparison of the iPhone 12 with the S21. As always, the platform’s YouTube channel does three tests in a row. They test the CPU (pure computing power), the mixed performance (computing power and graphics test) to end with a GPU test (graphics processing power).

The iPhone 12 manages to complete the assignments faster in every area than the Galaxy S21. The difference is, however, relatively small. Apple manages to finish 1 to 2 seconds faster for each segment. That equates to a performance difference of 7.4%, 6.5%, and 14.8% in the above test sequence. If you look at the total score, the performance differs by about 9%.

Conclusion

All in all, the difference is not very big, but certainly worth mentioning. As far as CPU performance is concerned, you can say that practically speaking you will hardly notice anything. But the GPU performance is significantly different.

Even though we are only talking about a time difference of about 15%, the number of frames that the iPhone 12 manages to produce is so superior that the S21 really doesn’t stand a chance in that area. Especially when it comes to gaming, the iPhone 12 is therefore objectively a better smartphone.
