iOS 16 beta 6 still doesn’t enable battery percentage on all iPhones

Beta 5 of iOS 16 made it possible to have the battery percentage at the status bar of iPhones with a notch. It turns out that not all models can take advantage of it. Unfortunately, the beta 6 distributed to developers this evening (and the equivalent public beta) still does not offer support for missing iPhones.

With iOS 16 beta 6, status bar level battery percentage is still not available on iPhone 11, iPhone XR, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 13 mini. The exact reason for this choice is not publicly disclosed by Apple. People with these iPhone models can hope that the manufacturer will change its mind by the final release which is normally due to arrive in September. But it is true that the absence in the beta of the day is not necessarily good news for them.

Apple now seems to really focus on bug fixes and other general improvements. The new features of iOS 16 beta 6 are more than light compared to previous versions. To see if Apple is preparing a surprise by the final version which will arrive in a few weeks for all users.

As a reminder, iPhones without a notch already have the right to the battery percentage in the status bar, and have for a while now. It is here only question of the models with the notch. And for those who are wondering: yes, it is possible to deactivate the option (this is also deactivated by default, at least with the beta).
