Apple launches iOS 16.4.1
Another new iOS version is available for your iPhone. At the end of March, Apple released iOS 16.4, bringing a number of useful new features to your phone. For example, from iOS 16.4 it is possible to receive notifications from Safari and the range of emojis has been expanded again. But with iOS 16.4, some issues also came to your iPhone.

iOS 16.4.1 isn’t a major update, but it does fix a few issues. According to Apple, these are two bugs from the previous iOS update and a security update. Read here which problems have been solved exactly.
1. Fixed issues with an emoji
It’s been a while since new emojis came to your iPhone, but iOS 16.4 changed that. In total, no fewer than 21 emojis were added with the update. These emojis include a shaking head, a pink heart, a donkey, a goose and many more. See all the new emojis here.
One of these emojis was not working properly yet. The emoji with pushing hands could not yet be displayed in different skin colors. Normally you can determine which skin color an emoji gets, but this function did not yet work with the emoji with the shaking hands. This issue has been resolved in iOS 16.4.1.
2. Siri works again in iOS 16.4.1
Siri didn’t get any new features in iOS 16.4, but it did have a problem with many iPhone users. In the new iOS version, the voice assistant responded poorly or not at all in some cases. After this update, Siri will work properly again.
3. Important security updates in the iOS update
Small updates from Apple often contain few new features, but they do provide important updates when it comes to the security of your device. This is no different in iOS 16.4.1, as important security updates are implemented in Apple’s WebKit in the update.
WebKit is the program that should run all browsers in the App Store. In iOS 16.4, WebKit was vulnerable to malicious code. This malicious software could run in the program and caused quite a few problems on your device. This vulnerability was now widespread on the Internet, so Apple immediately closed this vulnerability in iOS 16.4.1.
