Instagram starts in the Netherlands and Belgium with Amber Alert
Instagram has announced a new feature. Amber Alerts will now be displayed in the photo app, including in the Netherlands.
Amber Alerts in Instagram
From now on Instagram will show notifications from Amber Alert. Amber Alert is used when a child is missing. For example, you already receive notifications from the service via SMS. This is expanded with a notification at the top of the Instagram feed.
The notification that appears at the top of Instagram shows the child’s name, along with a photo, description, last location, and other available information. Based on, among other things, your IP address and location services to see if you are in the vicinity of a missing child.
The feature will be available in the following countries; Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Ecuador, Greece, Guatemala, Ireland, Jamaica, Korea, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Romania, South Africa, Taiwan, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and USA.
