PS5: Sony patents new coaching system

For PS5 players, Sony may want to offer a new type of support in the future. The US Patent Office recently released a new idea from Sony that is a Coaching system describes within games. The system should recognize whether you are playing a certain passage falls below a certain “skill level”. This takes into account how often you die, miss or hit the wrong button, for example. If you fail a game segment too often, your game will be recorded and you will then get help from the coaching system.

In the game you should then your recorded gameplay with corresponding overlays to be shown. These “overlays” named in the patent then show you your mistakes and give you tips. According to Sony, the coaching system should prevent you from frustrating a game and potentially abandoning it. (Source: United States Patent and Trademark Office).

For now just one of many Sony patents

As with all patents, often still lies a long way between theory and practice. Companies like Sony often simply secure ideas that never materialize, or take a long time. For example, a year ago Sony had a patent for a similar idea. The community should be able to leave notes even in games to help others with difficult passages.

Of course this is only for bad players – so nothing for you. Maybe you know someone who knows someone whose maternal brother-in-law doesn’t know how 22 potatoes are grown in the farming simulator. For someone like that, the coaching system might be an option. (We also have the answer, however, and sugar beets are also available for free.)
