How to fix Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20 + 5G battery life issues

There are a couple of simple tricks you can go for that can really make a change. We are going to list a few.

See which apps are draining the battery

You can check the apps that are draining the battery. You can do that by going to Settings> Device Maintenance> Battery> Battery Usage. You’ll see the list of apps that use most of the battery life. While some might be system apps, you may notice third-party apps you downloaded from the Play Store. Restart your device first and see if that’s going to make a change. Head to Play Store and see if there is an update for the app in question. Lastly, you can Uninstall the app.

Restart your phone

When having battery life issues, most people do not even consider a restart one of the most effective solutions. Keep in mind that many apps are running in the background, and by restarting the phone, all the apps and processes will be closed. Including the one that might be creating the issue. So, make sure to reboot your phone every once in a while, especially when you notice the battery is draining faster than usual.

Reduce the brightness

You can get a lot just by reducing the brightness level. Go to Settings> Display and lower down the brightness. Or, go for the Auto brightness option that will adjust it depending on the light in the room.

Disable Always on Display

Samsung Galaxy S20 comes with a set of great features, and one of them is Always on Display that allows you to get some info such as the time, weather, etc., at a glance. However, this feature does have a huge impact on the battery, and if you want the battery to last longer, we suggest you turn it off. Just swipe down from the top of the screen to access the Quick Settings and tap Always on Display to turn it off.

Bluetooth, Wi-Fi & Mobile data

We can’t imagine a day without these services, but do you use them all at all times? Probably not. So, if you don’t need them at the moment, turn them off. There is no need to keep the Bluetooth off when you are not using the headphones. By turning these features off when not in use, you will notice a significant change in battery life.

Activate dark mode

Among many great features, there is dark mode as well. It is easier on the eyes, and it saves battery life as well. Here is how you can enable it:

  • Open the settings
  • Tap display
  • Tap Dark mode, and it will change instantly.

These are some of the most effective tips when it comes to battery life. You can also enable the power saving mode when you see the battery is almost empty and you are not in a position to charge it. You can do that by going to Settings> Device care> Battery. Try the things we have mentioned above, and you will definitely fix the battery life on your Galaxy S20.
