HBO Max is undergoing a major overhaul!

Big things are about to change within HBO Max. Warner Bros. announced that.

In March of this year, the streaming service HBO Max was introduced in the Netherlands. We are now almost half a year later, but there are big changes planned for HBO Max. Warner Bros has disclosed to investors what will change.

It plans to merge HBO Max and Discovery+ into one streaming service. Now there are two separate services, each with their own offer. The merger should be completed in the summer of 2023. It is still unclear what the services will look like and whether all content will indeed be offered in the same way.

It is also unclear what the possible new name will be. HBO Max is a strong brand, but Discovery+ also has its own target group. Coming up with a new name isn’t ideal either. In short, at Warner Bros they will be sitting around the table in the coming months to figure out everything how to shape this merger.

HBO Max is a strong competitor of Netflix and Disney+ in the Netherlands. HBO was best known in the Netherlands for the hit series Game of Thrones.
