Half of readers think that Google is not doing well in terminating services

It’s not good for users, but certainly not for Google itself, according to our readers. In this week’s AW Poll, we asked who they think will really be the victims if Google ends services, and a whopping 49 percent think it’s not a good development for both users and Google.

Google’s graveyard

Google’s Assistants Driving Mode, Pixelbook, YouTube Go, Stadia: There’s never a dull moment in Google’s graveyard. Unfortunately: many great initiatives are being destroyed. The question, of course, is: is that bad for Google, or is that bad for the ‘customer’? Our readers think it’s far from ideal for both. It is harming both customers who can no longer use products, and possibly also a different view of the tech giant. But it’s also bad for Google, which has often already invested a lot of money in such an initiative and probably also suffers some image damage.

Mutts is clearly one of half of people who think it’s not good for either of them. “The customer loses a service they are familiar with and therefore loses trust in Google. And Google takes damage by being found to be unreliable. making users hesitant to try new services. These are then deleted again due to lack of popularity.”

AW Poll

21 percent of the readers think that especially users experience problems with this. 12 percent think that it is mainly Google that has to pay the price. 14 percent think it’s not that bad: they say it does no harm at all to Google or its users. 4 percent don’t know. bramvandegevel makes the difference between personal and business use. “I will not choose Google for business anytime soon (personally though) because switching from service to business can be a process for years and Google is not really nice and stable with long product support if they make too little profit on that product.”

Nobody makes another difference: “Google should stick to software and the hardware to others.”

What do you think, should Google really stick to software? So no more pixels? leave it in the comments and see you next week in a new AW Poll!
