Google TV remote may get profile switch button
It always takes a while to figure out how to change a profile. Whether in a streaming service or on a game console, for example. If you’re also struggling with it on Google TV, we’ve got some good news. Upcoming Google TV remotes are likely to feature a dedicated profile switch button.
Google TV
Earlier this week, Google announced that it will be possible to create profiles. This way you can set different preferences when you use the television than when another family member starts zapping. Google TV seems very convinced of the profiles, because it seems that future remote controls will even have a special button with which you can switch profiles.
TW Electronics writes on Twitter that there are three different options for the button. It becomes either user profiles, or your watchlist/favorites, or all apps. It depends on the Android TV variant you use what your button does. The watchlist is for standard Android TV, the second one is for Google TV and the last one is for Android Operator Tier.

Chromecast
There is often a fight about the remote control in many households, so that you can quickly switch profiles is nice. In any case, we hope that more Google TV will come to the Netherlands and Belgium. Earlier this week we wrote about the possibility that Chromecast with Google TV will also come to our region. We still see little Google TV in the Netherlands.
There are webshops that sell the Chromecast dongle with Google TV, even though televisions with Google TV and the Dutch help page of the platform is also online. Belgians will soon even be able to download the Google TV app on their smartphones. We’ll just have to wait and see: let Google first come up with those new Pixel phones.
