‘Google Pixel tablet comes with a stylus: we know this’

The Google Pixel tablet will be launched next year with a stylus. It is a stylus that works with the USI standard. It is not known whether this is also included with the device. We’ll discuss what we already know about the Google tablet.

A short teaser, that’s what we had to do at the Google I/O 2022 conference. There is no more information about Google’s upcoming tablet yet, except that it won’t be on the market until 2023. Nugiz has now discovered that a stylus that belongs to a Google tablet codenamed “Tangor” has been certified.

Google will also not just introduce a stylus, but one that works with the standard of the USI or: the ‘Universal Stylus Initiative’. The USI standard allows the accessory and its features to work on phones, tablets and laptops. Next year, Google may be the first to use a USI stylus with an Android device, although it is not yet known whether the pen is included as standard and whether it will also receive a place in the housing.

Nest Hub x Google Tablet?

There is also another important question, because in addition to the Pixel tablet, there were also rumors of an upcoming Google Nest Hub smart display that will come with a detachable screen. Are these upcoming devices one and the same product? In other words: will the Pixel tablet also work as a smart display that you place in a speaker dock?

It’s a theory that’s been doing the rounds more and more, and it’s quite possible given just about all the details about the next-generation Nest Hub and the upcoming tablet are still missing. And then there’s the mysterious code name ‘Tangor’: a fruit that is actually a mix between a tangerine and a regular orange. In any case, it is still a long run up to the launch in 2023 and more clarity will undoubtedly follow in the coming months.
