Google is adapting the Chrome browser

Windows 11 can already be installed on the first computers – and developers of other programs have to start thinking about it now at the latest. Now Google is jumping on the bandwagon and presenting a menu in the Chrome browser that better suits the design of Windows 11.

Google Chrome: menu in the style of Windows 11

Microsoft has not yet released Windows 11, but the new operating system can sometimes be installed in the final version. A message to the Chrome browser matches this. Here, Google has thought of a little thing with which the program can better adapt to the new Windows 11 environment adapts.

A Reddit user noticed that Google made a change to the Chrome source code, according to which the Browser context menu is extended by rounded corners. These are very prominent in Windows 11, which is why a takeover in Google Chrome certainly makes sense.

Windows 11: Changing browsers is getting more complicated

In Windows 11, changing the default browser is more difficult than it was in Windows 10. Microsoft unnecessarily puts a few obstacles in the way of users who are willing to switch. When starting for the first time, there is still a selection option, but if you don’t check the box next to “Always use this app”, you have to later take a detour.

According to Microsoft, this gives users more control. In the Competition from Firefox you see the whole thing differently, of course: “These barriers are confusing at best and seem to be designed to undermine the user’s decision for a non-Microsoft browser”.
