Users experience problems with the screen of the iPad Mini, Apple considers it normal behavior for an LCD screen.

Messages from users with problems pile up quickly. Shortly after the iPad Mini was released, people started complaining about ‘jelly scrolling’. This is seeing a weird “jelly-like” effect on their screen while scrolling. It’s normal behavior for an LCD screen, the tech giant told Ars Technica.

Something you don’t expect when you buy a new iPad. One side of the screen seems to slide at a different speed than the other, making the screen appear to wobble. A quick solution will not come. This is because Apple has sent a response to Ars Technica. It states that the device screen wobbling issue is not a problem at all. Okay…

Images of the problem have appeared before:

An Apple spokesperson said the jelly-like effect people see is typical of LCD screens as they refresh line by line. As such, it is normal for the lines at the top of the screen to refresh at a different rate than the lines at the bottom.

Normal?

That’s the question. Ars Technica maintains that the effect is much more noticeable on the iPad mini than on other 60Hz LCD iPads, including the latest entry-level model released with the mini. Furthermore, there is a visible line that divides the screen in the middle when the tablet is in portrait mode.

Apple doesn’t find it all that exciting and sticks to the position that it’s ‘normal’ and that users should get used to it. But the more people complain, the more likely it becomes that Apple will do something about it.
