Google introduces wait time for Play Store reviews

Google has introduced a new waiting period for ratings in the Google Play Store. From now on, these will no longer be immediately visible, in order to fight against deceptive apps.

Waiting time for app reviews

Reviews on apps that are given have so far been placed directly in the Google Play Store. Google has quietly made changes to this, so reports Mishal Rahman on Twitter.

He came across a text about the Google Play Store, which states that from now on a waiting time of 24 hours will be used. During that time, Google wants to take the time to spot misleading reviews and then remove them as well. Developers do have the opportunity to read the comments and, if necessary, to respond to them. However, these are also only visible after 24 hours.

Earlier, Google had already decided that other things were going to change around reviews. In the Google Play Store you will now only see reviews from users from the same country for an app and game. You will also only see reviews from users with a similar device. For example, tablet users do not receive reviews from users with a Chromebook.
