Google comes with a new foldable smartphone…

Apple’s competitors are increasingly coming up with a new foldable smartphone. Now the Google Pixel Fold that has this folding function will appear soon. The official Google channel on YouTube already showed the new Google Pixel Fold in a teaser video.

This foldable smartphone will be presented during the Google I/O 2023 event on May 10. The entry-level model with 256GB of storage is rumored to cost $1,799. If you want 512GB of storage, you have to pay $ 1919. It is not yet known what the device will cost in the Netherlands.

… but where is Apple?

Now that a foldable smartphone seems to be becoming more and more popular, it is high time that Apple also released a foldable iPhone (or iPad). However, something seems to be going on at Apple.

According to renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is working behind the scenes on a foldable smartphone, but also thinks it could be an iPad. He even expects Apple’s first folding phone to be shown in 2025 at the earliest. Reliable screen analyst Ross Young has also confirmed this. That means we have to be patient for another two years.

Foldable iPhone concept

Rumors tell us that Samsung has already shown samples of possible flexible iPhone screens to Apple in 2020. Unfortunately, nothing else seems to have happened.

Currently, Apple is said to be testing with a device that has a 9-inch foldable screen. This is probably a hybrid of an iPad and an iPhone. When folded, the device has the size of an iPhone, but when unfolded it looks more like an iPad.
