Google Chrome on Android gets a great new feature. What’s going on?
In September 2019, Google announced that Chrome would have a much clearer arrangement of open tabs. We saw this feature on computers a year later, and now we’ve finally seen it on Android devices.
Google Chrome arrangement of open tabs
The new layout completely replaces the vertical layout that covered most of the display. We can see it in screenshots from 9to5google. Each card is now much smaller, but for us it is a much better solution. You have the opportunity to see the content of the website (or at least part of it). As before the update, you can also see the favicon, the page title and the close button. In the upper left corner there is an option to open a new tab.
Chrome: Fast and secure
Most phones (with compact or really overgrown exceptions) display six cards at a time. Then you have to slide down. As a result, incognito mode doesn’t appear next to regular tabs, but instead has a toggle at the top. For some users with Google Chrome 88, the new feature has already begun to appear. However, the update is done on the server side, so it may take a while for it to reach you as well.
