From March 1, you can watch Formula 1, films and originals via Viaplay, this is what it costs
On March 1, 2022, the Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT) will officially roll out its Viaplay in the Netherlands. The company announced today. In addition to a somewhat aggressive Max Verstappen, we will soon be able to watch a scoring Olivier Giroud in the Italian series A, a 9-darter by Van Gerwen and several films and series via the streaming service.
F1 and other sports
The most striking were and are the broadcasting rights of Formula 1. NENT has ‘taken over’ these rights from Ziggo for a gigantic sum. All races can therefore only be viewed via Viaplay from next year. Or you have to take out a subscription to F1 TV for 2.99 per month, but then you will miss the Dutch commentary.
Already you go the Dutch commentary at Viaplay also missing. This week it came out that NENT will not choose Olav Mol as a commentator. So no more ‘beem bam pouf pouf’. He will be replaced by Nelson Valkenburg and Melroy Heemskerk. Jack Plooij, Robert Doornbos and Rob Kamphues can no longer be seen at the Formula 1 races. Besides Formula 1, you can also watch the Damalssvenskan (Swedish football league), the Premier League, Bundesliga, mixed martial arts, swimming and snooker.
Movies and series
In addition to all the sports violence, Viaplay subscribers can also watch movies such as ‘Tomb Raider’, ‘Bad Boys for Life’ and ‘Walker’. Our sister site IGN reports this. The platform also offers more than thirty different originals. Examples include ‘The Box’, ‘Honour’ and ‘Love Me’. In addition, NENT states that it is working on Dutch-language originals. For enthusiasts, you can also watch ‘Peppa Big’.
Price and availability
Viaplay will be available from March 1, 2022 for a monthly price of 13.99,- and will be available via VodafoneZiggo and KPN, among others, as a subscription and as a separate streaming service. You can watch Viaplay on your TV and on Android, iOS, Apple TV, Mac and PC.
